What’s better than enjoying a nice glass of wine?
Enjoying it from the comfort of your luxury RV, while taking in the sights of British Columbia out on the open road.
Wine tours are a big hit in this province, because British Columbia is famous for its wines. The Okanagan Valley, Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, and Similkameen Valley and Tofino are all known for growing good grapes, and festival season in Wine Country is about to get underway. Whether you’re a fan of red, white, pink, or rosé; merlot, sauvignon, chardonnay or pinot noir, there’s a tour for you this spring.
Here are our three best picks:
The 15th annual Tofino Food and Wine Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the region. Nothing goes better with a glass of wine than great food pairings, and Tofino is known for producing fantastic cuisine made from local, fresh produce. This year’s event runs from June 2nd to June 4th, 2017 and includes four major shows: The Cocktail Show, Grazing in the Gardens, Schooner Sunset BBQ, and The Morning After Bubbles and Brunch.
Tofino is a nine-hour drive from our dealership. Since this event will be a weekend affair, your travel trailer should be nice and cozy for the long ride ahead. There are plenty of RV accessories and furniture (like a wine chiller) that will make your wine tour a huge success.
Back for its fourth year, Chilliwack’s Art of Wine Festival returns to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on May 13th, 2017. Enjoy 25 spectacular wines, while supporting the local arts and culture in Chilliwack. Live entertainment, tasty appetizers, and a silent auction will also be present.
Wine aside, Chilliwack, B.C is also known for its scenery, which makes it a great place to set up camp in your RV. Plenty of RV parks and campgrounds dot the Fraser River, so once you’ve finished up at the Art of Wine Festival, you can kick back and relax in the great outdoors.
A vineyard walk and a picnic are just the start. On May 7th, 2017, Cedar Creek Estates’ winery tours return, and the Wine Maker’s Trail is sure to be a hit. Visitors can sample wines during the walk and enjoy a picnic in the vineyard. This authentic take on an educational experience will give you a better understanding of how wines are created. The on-site wine shop is also open until 6:00 p.m, so you can take a bottle home with you back to South Thompson. Just 20 minutes from downtown Kelowna, the drive in your RV will be just over two hours.
Do you love local food and drink shows? Spring is the ultimate season for food trucks, breweries, and vineyards to show off their products to the local residents of B.C.
